Ms. Herbert’s area of practice is workers’ compensation defense.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in accounting from St. Augustine’s College. Ms. Herbert received her Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration degree from North Carolina Central University. She served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Alison Lee and as an assistant public defender in the Office of the Richland County Public Defender. Prior to joining MG&C, Ms. Herbert was an associate with the Benjamin Law Firm where her practice emphasized general business matters, litigation (civil and criminal), nonprofit administration, and employment matters. In 2006, the Wills Project for Senior Citizens that Ms. Herbert spearheaded won the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Award, and she was recently named South Carolina Young Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division. The Columbia Business Journal named Ms. Herbert as one of the top 20 business leaders under 40 in 2008. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Federal District of South Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, Ms. Herbert is a certified circuit court mediator.
