Mr. Adams practices appellate law in state and federal courts and leads the MG&C Appellate Law Practice Group. He also works in the areas of environmental, utilities, and administrative law before state and federal administrative agencies, including the South Carolina Public Service Commission, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Mr. Adams was educated at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, England and the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee (B.A. 1987). He served as the Society of the Cincinnati’s Scholar to France for 1987, and earned an M.A. in History at the University of Florida, where he was both a Milbauer Fellow and a Grinter Fellow. Mr. Adams received his J.D. (1991) from the University of South Carolina, where he was the Research Editor of the South Carolina Law Review. Mr. Adams is a member of the South Carolina Bar. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Adams has served as a guest columnist for The State newspaper and The Charleston Mercury newspaper. He also has served on the board of the Congaree Land Trust and on the board of Historic Camden, in Camden, South Carolina. Mr. Adams currently serves on the board of the South Carolina Conservation Bank and is a member of the Central Carolina Community Foundation's Advisory Board. He is a member of The French and American Scholars Committee for The Society of The Cincinnati. Mr. Adams is a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, a legal honor society. He also is a member of the American Bar Association’s Council of Appellate Lawyers.
