Since 1985, Mrs. Courie has practiced in the areas of products liability, premises liability, construction law, employment law, insurance defense, and insurance coverage.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in journalism and is a 1984 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mrs. Courie is a former law clerk to the Honorable C. Anthony Harris, Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, the Defense Research Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. She is a Barrister and former Secretary-Treasurer of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. Mrs. Courie also served as a member of the South Carolina Supreme Court Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline and on the South Carolina Bar’s Judicial Qualifications Committee. She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the South Carolina Supreme Court.
