Mentoring Program
McAngus Goudelock & Courie identifies senior associates and members who have particular strengths in teaching and guiding young lawyers and assigns them to mentor new lawyers for two years after they are hired. The mentor meets with the new lawyer periodically to address the firm’s expectations with regard to lawyer performance and to assist the lawyer in developing an understanding of how law is practiced in a manner consistent with the duties, responsibilities and expectations that accompany membership in the legal profession. In many cases these mentoring relationships last much longer and strengthen both professional growth and friendships within our law firm.
MGC University
To ensure the continued success of all of our attorneys, McAngus Goudelock & Courie launched MGC University in January of 2008. The firm presents educational seminars monthly with a wide variety of topics and speakers designed to produce a well-rounded lawyer and citizen. Past topics include: practice management, communications with courts, legal writing, negotiation, employment law, law firm administration, client communication, social networking, stress management and marketing. These sessions are approved by the South and North Carolina Bar Associations for continuing legal education in most instances.
