Donna Givens joins the firm's Columbia office
McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC is pleased to announce that Donna Givens has joined the firm as a member of the Columbia office. She practices in the area of litigation including civil rights defense, tort claims act defense, auto torts, mediation, construction, and insurance coverage.
Donna received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Francis Marion College in 1985, and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1988. She is a certified mediator and arbitrator and has tried over 100 cases and mediated more than 400 cases. Donna is President of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association (2007-2008), and served on its Executive Committee Board since 2000. She was elected to the House of Delegates of the South Carolina Bar in 2004, and she was appointed by the South Carolina Supreme Court to serve as Commissioner on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission. From 1993 to 1996, Donna served on the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline. She is a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, and Defense Research Institute. Donna is admitted to practice before all courts in South Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
