Patrick Deng focuses his practice on litigation. Drawing on his background in the courtroom, Patrick brings a trial-tested perspective to his practice, drawing on his background as a prosecutor to effectively analyze cases, build strategy and advocate for clients. He is committed to strong communication and believes that understanding each client's goals and concerns is essential to achieving successful outcomes.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick served as a prosecutor in North Carolina and Colorado, handling a wide range of criminal matters from investigation through trial and resolution. His experience includes more than 20 jury trials and 50 bench trials involving matters such as impaired driving, domestic violence, assault, theft and drug offenses. Throughout his prosecutorial career, Patrick achieved favorable outcomes in the vast majority of cases he tried. In Colorado, he also served on an emergency on-call rotation, reviewing warrant requests, advising law enforcement at homicide scenes on evidence collection and participating in major investigations, including attending autopsies alongside medical examiners. This experience provided him with unique insight into case development, investigation strategy and trial preparation.

Outside of work, Patrick enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo and has practiced both disciplines since 2016. He also enjoys playing the violin and spending time with his family in Charlotte. Patrick is fluent in Chinese and conversationally fluent in French.
