Shea Floyd’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation matters at the firm’s Asheville office. He represents employers, insurance carriers and third‑party administrators. Shea approaches each case with a commitment to responsive communication, thorough preparation and practical problem‑solving, helping clients efficiently manage claims and mitigate litigation exposure within the workers’ compensation system.

Prior to joining MGC, Shea gained valuable in-house experience through a legal residency with The Fresh Market, Inc. There, he reviewed and analyzed contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, assisted in document collection and response strategies for employee complaints and assessed potential risks on issues concerning trademarks, state alcohol regulations and employee leave laws. In addition, Shea previously served as a legal assistant at a criminal defense law firm that provided him with hands on exposure to litigation support and claim handling from the ground up. This combination of in-house and firm side experience allows Shea to view matters through both a legal and business focused lens.

Outside of work, Shea enjoys spending time with his fiancée, their two dogs, family and friends. He also enjoys traveling, exploring the mountains of western North Carolina and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers.
