McAngus Goudelock & Courie, a regional insurance defense firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Toups to the firm’s Wilmington office. Toups' practice focuses on workers’ compensation.

Toups represents defendant employers in both the private and public sector in all stages of workers’ compensation litigation before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, as well as subrogation and other related civil litigation in Superior Court. Jason also represents uninsured employers in penalty hearings involving the Attorney General’s office. His representative clients include municipalities and local government agencies within North Carolina, businesses of all kinds and all sizes (whether insured, self-insured or uninsured), insurance carriers and third-party administrators.

Toups received his juris doctor from Mercer University and his bachelor of science from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the Lower Cape Fear Human Resources Association and is also involved in the Coastal Conservation Association of North Carolina’s Cape Fear Chapter. Toups was included in the “Legal Elite – Young Guns Category” by Business North Carolina in 2010 and 2011, as well as the North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star” list in 2012 and 2014.
