McAngus Goudelock & Courie, a regional insurance defense firm, has opened an office in Atlanta. This is the firm’s first Georgia office. MGC now has 13 offices across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia.

John Campbell practices liability and commercial litigation, with a focus on products liability, premises liability and business tort litigation. He has practiced litigation for over 28 years, representing manufacturers, retailers, property owners, corporations and property and casualty insurance carriers. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the State Bar of Georgia and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Harbour youth camps. Campbell earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and Tennessee.

Trula Mitchell’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense. Mitchell spent three years in the claims department at Zurich US before joining MGC’s Raleigh office in 2000. She has been included in North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine’s “Rising Star” list. Mitchell earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University. She is admitted to practice in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law.

Thomas Sippel brings over 20 years of litigation and insurance defense experience to the firm, having most recently served as the Managing Attorney for Georgia and Tennessee staff legal offices for The Hartford Insurance Group. Sippel has also been the managing member of an insurance defense firm’s Atlanta office. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, Risk Insurance Management Society and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. Sippel serves as a Board Member with the Atlanta Claims Association, and is also involved with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Bachman Community Center. He has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” for Civil Litigation Defense, is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America Trial Lawyer Honor Society and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating™ by Martindale-Hubbell®. Sippel earned a Juris Doctor from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, Washington, DC, Tennessee and the U.S. District Courts – Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, Eastern District of Tennessee and District of Maryland.
