ASHEVILLE, NC – Law firm McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC) is pleased to announce the addition of attorney Michael Morrison II to their Asheville office, with a practice focused on employment and workers’ compensation. Morrison previously practiced management-side labor and employment law in the U.S. Virgin Islands and represented employees in North Carolina and South Carolina. His experience on both sides of employment issues informs his holistic, proactive and practical approach to all issues critical to the modern workplace. Morrison has also served as an advocate before the American Arbitration Association and various administrative tribunals, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.

Morrison earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, a National Security Law Certificate from the University of Virginia School of Law as well as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate University of South Florida. Morrison was named a Class of 2023 Fellow by the National Employment Law Council Academy and a Class of 2020 Recipient by The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.
